Bougainvillea – A magical exotic plant for the garden

by Eva

Bougainvillea, a magical plant that fills backyards, gardens, and our hearts, with amazing colors and images.

Bougainvillea is one of the most popular climbing plants in the poorer countries. The plant has discovered their original home in South America and in the 19th century during an expedition of the French navigator Louis Antoine Comte deBougainville and later introduced in Europe. They are called still Bougainville, bougainvillea, Bougainvillié or Drilling flower.

BougainvilleaΒ isΒ beautifulΒ andΒ highlyΒ conspicuousΒ by itsΒ lushΒ bractsΒ exotic plants.Β They like theΒ heat, soΒ they canΒ inΒ countries where theΒ temperaturesΒ during the cold monthsΒ fall below 0Β degrees Celsius,Β preferablyΒ be plantedΒ in pots.
WithΒ BougainvilleaΒ canΒ makeΒ a realΒ southernΒ paradise on the terrace.Β It isΒ easy to maintain andΒ with theirΒ rapidly growingΒ andΒ vibrantΒ flowersΒ inΒ theΒ MediterraneanΒ countriesΒ as a climberΒ very popular.Β YouΒ can see themΒ on fencesΒ and facadesΒ of houses often.
TheΒ DrillingΒ flowerΒ is very beautifulΒ evenΒ as a container plant. Unfortunately, it is notΒ frostΒ resistant.Β It is very importantΒ that theyΒ winteredΒ right.Β YouΒ mustΒ notΒ setΒ toΒ the darkroomΒ inΒ a cool.Β Do not worry ifΒ the leaves ofΒ bougainvilleaΒ failΒ in winterΒ Β theyΒ grow back in spring.
SomeΒ types ofΒ BougainvilleaΒ such asΒ Bougainvillea spectabilisΒ beΒ up to 6Β feet high.Β TheΒ speciesΒ stillΒ differΒ inΒ theΒ colorΒ andΒ flower form. WhetherΒ white, purple,Β pink or redΒ Β theΒ bougainvilleaΒ alwaysΒ attractsΒ attention to itself.Β Β Β
TheΒ BougainvilleaΒ is growingΒ quite rapidlyΒ in a sunny spot.Β It formsΒ longΒ tendrils andΒ thereforeΒ needsΒ trellisΒ as support.Β After heavyΒ rain, the leavesΒ could turnΒ quickly.Β The perfect placeΒ isΒ whereΒ protectedΒ from theΒ rain, the plantΒ remainsΒ the sameΒ and itΒ getsΒ a lot of sunlight.Β
The plantΒ mustΒ not beΒ hyperhydrated,Β butΒ when she getsΒ too little water,Β fall out ofΒ not onlyΒ the green leavesΒ but also theΒ colorful bracts.Β thereΒ when the rootsΒ areΒ onlyΒ slightly dampΒ is best.Β This stimulatesΒ the growthΒ processΒ of theΒ bracts.
This plant always fascinated me and always had in mind to do an article forΒ that with most magical images from the internet … enjoy.
