The real “Small house in the prairie” is hidden in the center of Athens
The project is realized in cooperation with the Greek mattress manufacturer Coco-mat. It is an environmentally friendly prototype for a modern house with modular design and modern furnishings. The container house is built in Kifisia, Greece and is open to the public.
According to the architect, such an energy-efficient container house is not only faster than conventional construction but also cheaper by about 50%. It will continue to be equipped with low-tech smart systems for daily needs, as well as furnished with sustainable furniture. The interior is bright and friendly with a view of the garden.
An energy-efficient container house like this one can also be built much faster than a brick-built traditional house of the same size. As a rule, only a few weeks are sufficient. Then the construction can be easily transported to the plot and is now available.
The container house of Cocoon Modules is furnished with sustainable, organic furniture by Coco-mat. The decor is minimalist, but you have everything you need: a small kitchenette with dining area, small living room with comfortable couch and large wall shelf, cozy sleeping area and a small bathroom. The large windows let in a lot of light in the room, so the interior is very bright and inviting. Weather permitting, the windows open outward to eliminate the boundaries between inside and outside.
