Many summer residents do not even realize that zucchini can be stored fresh until spring, and this is without any processing. The main thing is to observe several rules, which will allow you to keep the zucchini harvest until the next season.
The first rule is to let the zucchini ripen. Young zucchini can be eaten immediately or made from them for the winter. And it is better to leave large, several kg., Zucchini for long-term storage.
The second rule is to cut correctly. The stalk on the vegetable marrow should stay as long as possible! If you cut it at the root, then such a zucchini will definitely not be stored. When the stalk is cut, you need to leave the zucchini in the house at room temperature for 2 weeks to allow the cut to last. If the zucchini begins to rot, then it is better to process it – it will not work for storage. However, if after 2 weeks the cut is dry, then the vegetable can be sent to storage in the basement or even left at room temperature – they are best stored in an upright position.
