Creative upcycling DIY ideas – how to use old cutlery as decoration
Old silver cutlery is ideal for home use, as it can be used not only for cooking but also throughout the house. The concept of recycling is a new trend that can also be used here. Instead of storing old utensils in a drawer or cupboard, many creative upcycling ideas can inspire you.
Decorative ideas with a fork
One of the simplest and most creative upcycling ideas is creating a wind chime. Old cutlery is ideal for wind chimes, as they produce a nice sound. You need about 10 forks, spoons etc., hammer and nail (or drill), 10 heavy strings, a hook for hanging and a round piece of wood or metal. The string should be cut in different lengths so that your cutlery can hang at different heights, as with almost every wind chime.
Cabinet handles are another great option for making cutlery. Simply bend the device in half in a semicircle. Just bend in the middle and let the two sides flat and straight. Then use a drill or hammer and nail to drill a hole through each side of the cutlery. This is the perfect complement to any kitchen.
